Hello! Yay Day is the name of the May 2026 My Monthly Hero Kit from Hero Arts and it’s all about celebrating! Think cake, sprinkles, and lots of balloons! My card today uses the My Monthly Super Hero, which includes everything in the regular kit plus a whole lot more. I thought the balloon shaker was so cute, and I love that it comes with dies to make your own confetti!

The kit comes with some fabulous cardstock colors from Spellbinders, and I used several of them on the card. I also added a yellow from my stash. I made the shaker balloon first. I used one of the sentiments that are designed to fit in the balloons with Aquatini Ink from Catherine Pooler. I also used a Medium Blending Brush to add some of the same color to the edge of the balloon. It’s subtle, but adds some faux dimension. I cut lots of confetti for the shaker, and I added some Moonshine Card Bling from A Colorful Life Designs.
I didn’t want to make the background too busy or too plain, so I cut strips of different widths out of the same cardstock I used on and in the balloon. Adhering them at an angle makes the card feel more dynamic. I popped up the focal panel with 1mm Foam Tape from Scrapbook.com.
This is such a fun kit, and I only used a very small portion of what’s inside! I really love the color palette of cardstocks too, but of course you can change them up when you get your kit at home.
