Hello! I love copper and the colors it changes to when it has a patina. I had a simple ombre monoprint I made with acrylic paint that gave me patina vibes, so I wanted to put lots of shiny copper on top. The new Flower Rays Stencil from A Colorful Life Designs was perfect for this.

I had made this Gel Press print some time ago, and it’s just a blending of colors. Bright Aqua Green is the most prominent color. I laid my stencil on top and applied VersaMark Ink with a finger dauber to the entire piece. Then I used a copper embossing powder on top after I removed the stencil and I heat set it. The shine was exactly what I wanted. You could also do this with a copper embossing paste.

I chose a Spellbinders Colored Cardstock to coordinate with the teal tones, and used a foiled copper cardstock with it for my Best Wishes sentiment. It’s also from Spellbinders. I inked the edges of the shadow layer with All That Jazz Ink from Catherine Pooler. I inked the card base with it as well, but I used a lighter hand.

Thank you so much for your kind words!
