Greetings! When I first saw the Magic Runes Stencil from A Colorful Life Designs, it immediately gave my Blair Witch Project vibes. Have you ever seen that movie? It was a really low budget indie film that came out in 1999 and for a while, folks didn’t know if it was a documentary or just a work of fiction. It was so creepy, and I enjoyed it so much I saw it twice in the theatre. Anyway, this stencil really reminds me of that film, and I tried to play up on that with how I made my card.

I used some Pixie Spray from Therm O Web to stick my stencil down to some Strathmore Smooth Bristol Cardstock. Then I sprinkled on some Storm Cloud Nuvo Shimmer Powder onto the panel and sprayed it with water, allowing the colors to come alive and move. This was the perfect color palette for the look I was going for.
Next, I die cut my “wicked” from the Tim Holtz and Sizzix Gothic Portraits Die Set. The spider web is from the Fright Night Die Set, which sadly has been discontinued. I cut each piece 3 times out of black cardstock. After adding the pieces to my card front, I used the Clear Glitter Brush Pen from Scrapbook.com on them. The “wicked” is looking a bit pink in my photo above, but I think that’s from my lighting. It really is just clear. I wanted a bit more shine, so I added a few Moonshine Card Bling from A Colorful Life Designs.
