Still Crushing on You

Hello! My card today is really special to me. It uses stamps from Josh Griffiths’ and Spellbinders Collections called Storybook Illustrations and Can’t Stand Still. The premise of these collections is for the crafter to stamp out different body parts and scenes to build beautifully illustrated projects. One thing that you can do is create likenesses to folks in your life, and for this card, I tried my very best to make it look my husband and I.

I started off with making myself, using a combination of stamps from the Can’t Stand Still 1 Ladies Stamp Set and the Illustrated Lady Stamp Set. Everything was stamped with Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink onto Scrapbook.com’s White Mixed Media Paper. I love that you can make infinite looks with these stamps, and you only need to draw a few simple lines here and there (unless you want to get more elaborate) to finish things off- like drawing in the neck. I also drew in my hair, because I didn’t see something in the sets I have that were quite right, and looking in the correct direction. For my husband, I used the Can’t Stand Still 2 Men and the Illustrated Man Stamp Sets. Something that’s important to remember is that you need to stamp the images you want in the foreground first. So, I had to stamp the bodies before I could stamp the tree stumps we were sitting on. A bit of masking prevents you from stamping on top of the bodies with the tree stump.

The rest of the scene was created with the Custom Woodland Stamp Set. After everything was stamped, I painted it all with my Koi Watercolors. I have missed water coloring like this so much, and these sets are an absolute joy to work with. Stamping everything can be a time consuming process, but I am truly having so much fun. I have a ton of ideas and I need to get more of Josh’s stamps that he offers on his website. To add in any of the additional details I needed (like the sleeves of the shirts), I used a black Micron Pen. It’s a rich black and it’s waterproof, so it’s safe to use before or after you watercolor. The sentiment is from the December 2025 Stamp & Die of the Month from Spellbinders.

I was smiling so much while I was making this card. My kids popped in while I was working on it and cracked up because the immediately knew it was us. I’m so happy that it was obvious enough to them.
