Hello! I have another card featuring the Sun & Moon Stencil from A Colorful Life Designs, this time I’m showcasing the moon side. To see my sun card, that has a bit of snark, click HERE. I played with some of the new items I recently received from Tonic Studios, and I did a bit of experimentation.

I started with some black watercolor paper and then I added some Nuvo Meteorite Shower Shimmer Powder to it. I sprayed it with water to get the color to start spreading, and I used a brush to cover the panel with shimmery color. A lot of the color seemed to soak into the paper, so I will probably try a mixed media paper next time. But, it had a very cool effect when I did the next step.

I laid the stencil onto the dried panel and applied Quicksilver Glacier Paste with Tonic’s Angled Media Spatula. I am really loving this tool! The moisture in the paste started to pull up some of the color from the Shimmer Powder, so you’ll see little bursts of color here and there, which was a cool and unexpected surprise. While I let that dry, I prepped my sentiment, which is from an Old Sassy and Crafty stamp set (they are no longer in business). I inked up the sentiment with VersaMark Ink, and applied silver embossing powder onto a piece of black cardstock. I popped it up with black foam tape and mounted everything onto a black card base.

This has a completely different vibe from my sun card, even though it uses the same stencil. It’s a great one to work with.
