Guys….I’ve got a ONE LAYER card today. Only one layer! Crazy, right? I hardly ever do that, but the new Bake Me a Cake Stencil from A Colorful Life Designs was really perfect for it, so I figured, why not? You can get these made in a jiffy, which is perfect if you need a birthday card unexpectedly.

I opened my card base onto my Glassboard Studios Glass Mat and held it down with my Pawn Magnets. I worked from the bottom of he stencil up, using Catherine Pooler Inks and Medium Blending Brushes from Scrapbook.com. For the cake I used Be Mine, Aquatini, and Bay Breeze.

I used my small Waffle Flower Shader 1+ Brushes for the rest of the card. The candles were inked with Grape Crush, the flames with Tiara, and the sentiment with Party Dress. The design takes up enough of the card front that I didn’t think I needed to add any embellishments. The next time I use this stencil, I think I’ll make it a full panel shaker card.

You can customize your colors however you like. The cake is fun to experiment with. Please visit the A Colorful Life Designs website to see the thousands of available stencils.
