Hello! I’ve mentioned in previous posts how much I love using geometric stencils for gel printing. Today’s card uses another fab geometric from A Colorful Life Designs, called Slanted Chevron. I made the prints without giving any of them too much thought. Just paint, stencils, and my Gel Press. I try to not overthink my prints, and on the day I made these, I was having a rough day. I was frustrated and not focusing on what I was making really…I was just trying to chill out. And I can’t tell you how happy I am with the prints. Letting go of your thoughts while you’re creating can really lead to some amazing things, no matter what you’re working on. Those emotions can get poured into your creations, and I bet you’ll feel better afterwards.

I used a few colors of paint for this print. Which they were exactly, I’m not sure because I really wasn’t paying attention. I was totally in the groove. I tore up the edges of the paper using an Edge Distressing Tool. I love the bits of orange at the top, so I wanted to make sure I tied that color into my sentiment. I grabbed the Checking In Stamps and Coordinating Dies from Concord & 9th and Kristina Werner. I tapped on Cashmere Ink onto white cardstock, then stamped my sentiment in Mandarin. The inks are from Catherine Pooler.

Under my sentiment I added some gauze. I just love what it adds to my projects. I inked the edges of my card base with Cashmere and Sand Castle Ink.

I love the texture of the gauze and distressed monoprint edge. Even the print gives the illusion of dimension, even though it’s perfectly flat.
