Hello! Do you remember when I shared THIS card and THIS card that featured the Jack of All Trades dies from Spellbinders and Jaycee Gaspar? Well now there is a fantastic add-on die, called Wild Joker, and it is so cool. I got to use one of my favorite stencils from A Colorful Life Designs with it, called Messy Harlequin.

I started by using my Palette Scout to help me choose my colors. I went with Jewel, Reed, and Hibiscus, for those of you that have the Palette Scout. If you’d like to learn more about that, you can check out my video HERE. I die cut all of my joker pieces from colored cardstock, except for the mask and cards. Putting this guy together takes some time, and I did find it helpful to have a photo of the finished Joker to look at. I ink blended some Peeled Paint Distress Ink on some of the green areas, but I didn’t find that I needed to on the other colors. I also added some touches of Glitz Stickles in Champagne.

A joker themed card is just begging for a harlequin pattern, right? So I placed the Messy Harlequin stencil onto some white cardstock and blended Peeled Paint, Fired Brick, and Seedless Preserves Distress Inks with a Blending Brush. Then I picked the stencil up and shifted it over so that I can fill in the negative spaces with more of the pattern. I applied the colors randomly and tried not to over-blend so that I didn’t get any muddy tones. For some shine, I splattered on some Gold Sheer Shimmer Spritz. I also brushed the Sheer Shimmer Spritz onto my card base. I mounted my joker onto my inked panel with 1mm and 3mm Foam Strips from Scrapbook.com.

I love how this card turned out! I want to make it again with other color palettes. The Messy Harlequin was the perfect background for this fella, and the gold makes it a bit more regal.
