Greetings! I love the new Retro Flower Duo stencil from A Colorful Life Designs. It’s a 6×9 stencil with 2 different focal floral designs on it. This is the first card I’ve made with the stencil, and I’ll have a second to share soon. I decided to do some ink blending on this version.

I inked the flower with Seedless Preserves and Villainous Potion Distress Inks. I used Rustic Wilderness for the foliage and stems, plus some Black Soot for the flower’s center. I splattered on some Lulu Lavender Fireworks! Spray from Imagine and then die cut the flower with a circle die. To make the circle pop a bit, I inked the edge just a little bit with Elderberry Memento Ink.

I found some plaid paper in my stash that worked really well with the flower so I cut it down to be 4″ x 5 1/4.” I added a sentiment from Spellbinders’ Bestie Alphabet Beads & Sentiments, which I inked with Chianti VersaFine Clair Ink. I added a little Elderberry Memento Ink to the card base.

This stencil has such a fun 70’s vibe to it. I can’t wait to show you how I used the other flower. I used a completely different technique for it.
