Hello! As soon as I saw the February Small Die of the Month Club Kit from Spellbinders, I immediately thought of The Wizard of Oz. I was so happy that I had some really old red glitter cardstock in my stash, so I knew I could bring my idea to life. To add to the look I was going for, I dug out a wonderful stencil from A Colorful Life Designs.

The red glitter cardstock is from an old Twilight-inspired Stack from DCWV. Then I used white and a beige for the socks and legs. These pieces go together really easily. Next, I die cut the “poppies” from red cardstock and used Aged Mahogany Distress Ink to deepen the color on the edges. The centers were cut from black cardstock. The vine I used is actually from the January 2025 Large Die of the Month from Spellbinders, which I cut from Green and added a touch of Rustic Wilderness to the tips.
My yellow brick road was made with the Brick Wall stencil from A Colorful Life Designs, and was inked with Mustard Seed Distress Ink. I found a great sentiment from Lawn Fawn’s Critters Ever After stamp set, and used Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink for it. I felt like the card really needed some blue, so I inked the card base with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.
I was so excited to share this card with you. I love how it came out, and I think it’s pretty obvious that it’s referencing The Wizard of Oz.
