Greetings! I love pie. A lot. I don’t really make pie much, but if someone were to offer me a slice of almost any kind of pie, you can bet that I’m going to say yes. Because of my love of pie, I was very excited to see the Pie Fixes Everything stencil from A Colorful Life Designs. It’s a 6×9 stencil that comes with a few great sentiments and even a slice of pie that you can ink up.

I opted to make a die cut pie and use one of the sentiments from the stencil for my card. This die set is from Spellbinders, and is called Serve a Slice, but is unfortunately no longer available. You can find some of the other pie sets from that collection HERE, but other companies, like Concord & 9th and The Greetery, have pie dies as well. I decided to go with a cherry pie, and I did a bit of ink blending with Distress Inks.
I wanted to give the card a holiday vibe without being over-the-top Christmas, so I opted for a green plaid paper for the background, which is from Echo Park. I used a glossy white embossing paste for my stenciled sentiment, which looked really great with the white stripes in the plaid. And guys…I kept my card base white (gasp!).
The contrast between the green plaid and the red pie is great…..that’s because they’re opposite each other on the color wheel. And even though some of the white lines cut through the sentiment, it’s still easy to read. So, do you like pie? Which is your favorite?
