Hello! It’s time for some Mid-Month Inspiration from A Colorful Life Designs. Every month on the 15th, a special new stencil is released at an awesome sale price. This month, it’s the Holly Nosegay, which is a 6×9 stencil, and it’s one sale for one week only for $4. This is a really pretty layering stencil, with all of the pieces on one stencil. Here’s what I came up with.

I dug through my backgrounds that I had made some time ago and I found one that was covered in Pear Tart Fireworks! Spray from Imagine. I had spilled my open bottle (oopsie!), so I used some paper to sop it all up. No reason to waste it! I decided the shimmery green was a great way to start this card. I laid the stencil on top of the panel, in the lower left corner, and applied Rustic Wilderness Distress Oxide for the leaves. I did the same thing again in the upper right corner. For the berries, I used Lumberjack Plaid Distress Oxide, and Golden Rod Stickles for the swirls. Then I flicked on some Cottage Ivy Fireworks! Spray to have a deep, shimmery green splatter.
The focal panel is much smaller than what I typically make, so I needed another layer behind it. I found a fun stripe from Miss Kate’s Christmas Basics 6×6 Paper Pack. Then for my sentiment, I pulled out an old die set from Honey Bee Stamps and cut it from red, green, and white paper scraps.
It’s fun and festive and I think it came out great. I’m so glad I finally used the piece of cardstock that picked up all of my spilled Fireworks! Spray.
