Hello! It’s been awhile since I shared a scrapbook page with you. But I was so excited to receive some of the Storytelling Scrapbooking Collection from Spellbinders, there was no way I couldn’t grab some photos and make pages. Here’s my first one, featuring a variety of dies, both from the Storytelling Collection and from others.

I found this old photo of my daughter, who had just gotten her face painted at a birthday party. She also had gotten a glitter tattoo on her hand, and made a necklace with sand and an emoji bottle. She was positively delighted, if you couldn’t tell from the photo. The makeup and what she was wearing gave me a great jumping off point for the scrapbook page.
I started by die cutting the Dancin’ Twinkle Fairy to coordinate with what Rhiannon was wearing. I found cardstock that matched her dress and shirt almost perfectly! I used some pearly vellum for her wings and did a bit of ink blending on her for some faux dimension. Then I grabbed some plaid paper from Lawn Fawn because I really wanted to pull out all of the colors in the photos. That inspired me to grab the Gathering Stitches die set from Nichol’s Needlework Collection. I already had all the pieces cut out from previous projects, so I glued everything together on a piece of vellum and cut the rainbow out as one big embellishment.
The Magic word die set was perfect for this page, so I die cut it with pink cardstock and a dark pink shimmer cardstock. I used the same dark pink as a frame around my photo. It was also a great way to ground my rainbow without the use of clouds.
There were some people in the background that I wanted to hide, so on the right side of the photo, I die cut a couple of flowers and leaves from the Tropical Flair Etched Dies from the Happy Hour Collection. I also added another strip of plaid paper. On the left side, I used some small star sequins from my stash to hide another face, and to make it look like the fairy was sprinkling magic.
To finish things off, I added a couple of strips of cardstock that looked like they were doodled on to the top and bottom of the page. I also splattered some Salvaged Patina Distress Spray Stain to add more interest to the background. Last, I added a spot for me to add a bit of journaling, which I inked with Salvaged Patina Distress Ink. I always think it’s so important to write something about what’s happening in the photo(s).
I am so happy I finally got to make this page. I think it really captures Rhiannon’s spirit and her happiness from that day. The colors are so happy and the dies really enhance the magic of the day. Please visit Spellbinders to see not just the Storybook Scrapbooking Collection, but all of the other collections that have come out this summer. You can really use them together in fun and unexpected ways. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!
Thank you so much for your kind words!
