Hello! There are some brand new collections from Spellbinders and one of them is called The Happy Hour Collection. You can craft some beautiful and fun beverages…there are even Halloween dies you can use! Today, I kept things simple and created a lavender martini. Now, I don’t think I’ve had more than 1 martini in my life, but a lavender one sounds intriguing.

The jumping off point was that little flower stem. I thought it would be fun to turn it into lavender, so I die cut it twice, then cut and adhered the little flowers to the green die cut. Then I created my martini using 3 shades of purple cardstock, a putty color, and some vellum for the back of the glass. It really comes together very quickly.
I used a shade of purple paper from Scrapbook.com’s Daybreak Paper Pad for my background. On top of it, I stenciled the new Random Triangles stencil from A Colorful Life Designs (use code AlFan10 to save 10%) with Dusty Concord Distress Ink. I like how the triangles mimic the shape of the glass. To add color to my card base, I first inked the edges with Pretty Petunia VersaMagic. But, it turned out to be a bit too bright. So I went over it with Antique Linen Distress Oxide, and that dulled it down quite a bit. My sentiment was made with the Be Bold Lowercase die set from Spellbinders, cut from two of the purples I used for the martini. I created the shadow layer myself.
I can’t wait to show you more using not only the Happy Hour Collection, but projects using some of the other new collections from Spellbinders. You can check out all of the August 2024 New Arrivals HERE. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!
