Hello! I’m sure many of you have seen The Matrix. It’s a great movie. If you watched my Unboxing video for the August release for A Colorful Life Designs, you know that the Big and Little Lines stencil reminded me of what the Matrix looks like. All those green vertical lines of code….so I knew I wanted to make a Matrix-like card.

I mixed up a batch of White Embossing Paste and Blick’s Green Light Permanent Acrylic Paint and then applied it through my stencil onto Scrapbook.com‘s Black Mixed Media Paper. It looked great without even needing to do anything else to it!
I let the panel dry and tried to figure out what kind of sentiment I wanted to use that would allude even more to The Matrix. I pulled out my beloved Noteworthy stamp set from Tim Holtz and Stampers Anonymous (seriously, if you don’t have it yet, I highly recommend you grabbing it. I use it all the time.) and decided the adventure sentiment was just what I needed. I used the same Black Mixed Media Paper and heat embossed the sentiment with VersaMark Ink and Peridot PearLustre Embossing Powder. I matted it with a piece of green cardstock which is practically the same shade of green as my paste. I inked my card base with Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide and then then inked just a bit with VersaFine Clair Ink in Nocturne.
I think this came out really cool, and it definitely has Matrix vibes. Please head over to the A Colorful Life Designs website to see the thousands of available stencils.
