Hello! Today I’ve got a pair of super shiny cards that are perfect for the holidays and plenty of celebrations. I used the brand new Star Bright die from Stacey Park’s new holiday collection for Sizzix. Scrapbook.com gave me the entire collection to play with, and I am excited to share what I’ve created with you!

As soon as I saw the Star Bright die, I knew I needed to go with black and holographic cardstock. I grabbed the Black Mixed Media Paper and the Holographic Mirror Paper Pad, both from Scrapbook.com, and started cutting papers. I opted to use one sheet of the black, one gold, and one silver. This gave me the opportunity to mix and match the different pieces to create fun looks for my cards.
This card uses the holographic gold paper for the main outline. After poking out the rest of the gold, I filled in the spaces with the silver holographic paper and the black. It’s a good idea to try and keep the piece organized as best as you can so that it’s easier to fit them together. Although the design looks symmetrical at first glance, it actually isn’t perfectly symmetrical, so you want to try not to mix up the placement.
I used Scrapook.com‘s Artis Craft Glue to adhere all of the pieces to another piece of Black Mixed Media Paper. I cut that backer piece bigger than the main frame of the Star Bright die so that it would show around the perimeter. To finish off the card front, I cut 2 strips of the same gold holographic starry paper for the right and left sides.
My second card didn’t use any gold (you’ll see what I did with the rest of it another day). I really love that silver holographic paper, so I wanted to use the large pieces with the black to really let them stand out. I wish you could see it in person….the bright rainbow effects you get from this paper are gorgeous!
Even though the thinner areas are all black on black, you can still see the different pieces which makes the card even more interesting beyond just the silver paper.
What colors or specialty cardstocks would you use with this die? What occasions would you use it for? Graduation season may be over, but wouldn’t it be fabulous for that? Please check out the entire new collection from Stacey Park for Sizzix over at Scrapbook.com. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!
Thank you so much for your kind words!
