Greetings! I have a spooktacular card to share today that I seriously loved making. The inspiration came from the Layered Monsters and Drippy Arch stencils from A Colorful Life Designs. Let me walk you through what I did.

So the Layered Monsters is a 6×6 layering stencil set that has lots of monsters on it. But I wanted to use only 2. I inked them up with VersaFine Clair Ink in Monarch and Purple Delight. For the next layer, I used glossy white embossing paste and for the 3rd I used glossy black embossing paste. I used my white Signo pen on the ears, and fussy cut them out.
I needed a place for these guys to hang out, so I grabbed the Grand Arch 5 stencil set and first applied a mask to my Strathmore Smooth Bristol Cardstock. I stamped the exposed areas with the cobblestone stamp from Hero Arts’ Tiling Textures set with Gina K Designs’ Amalgam Ink. Then I inked on top of the stones with Distress Ink in Gathered Twigs, Peeled Paint, and Lost Shadow.
Next, I removed the mask and put the coordinating stencil in place. Then I inked the open space with Twisted Citron and Black Soot Distress Ink. Then I placed the mask for Drippy Arch right on top of the Grand Arch stencil and applied a healthy amount of Nuvo’s Neon Glow Drops in Apple Sour. I removed the mask and stencil and washed them well and let the panel dry. Wanna see the glow???
Isn’t that so cool? I am crazy about how bright it is!
I needed to define things a bit better so I went around the edge of the arch with a black marker (I think I used PITT pens), and around the drippy goo. Then I die cut the “boo!” from Catherine Pooler’s Cobweb Mini Cover Plate Die from black cardstock. I grabbed my Signo pen again and added some white highlights here and there. I adhered my monsters and mounted the panel on to a black card base.
I love how this turned out, and had so much fun using lots of supplies to put it together. And that GLOW! I hope you try some of these techniques out yourself.
