Hello! When I first saw the new Halftone Circle stencil from A Colorful Life Designs, I knew I wanted to make a sort of water scene. Nothing realistic, but something with water. I have the Ondine stamp set from Carabelle Studio that has 2 koi fish in it, and I knew that was the way to go.

I found a really colorful acrylic paint roll-off print from one of my Gel Press printing sessions, and I thought it would make beautiful water. I trimmed the panel down and applied a Brutus Monroe Glitter Glaze though the stencil. It was a little too light for my liking, so I added a second, darker Glaze on top. This looked much better.
I colored the koi with Copics in the following colors: R05, R32, R14, Y15, Y35, YR15, YR07, YR04. I chose colors that would really pop against my “water.” After I fussy cut them, I found a sentiment from Altenew’s Under the Cherry Blossom Tree stamp set (doesn’t seem to be available anymore), inked it up with Charming Pink VersaFine Clair Ink. I kept my card base white.
This is a simple card in it’s design, but because of the fun Halftone Circle stencil and the roll-off print that has so many colors, it’s not boring. I really love getting to use those prints in fun ways like this. Please be sure to visit A Colorful Life Designs to see the many, many stencils they have to offer.
