Greetings! I’m sharing a card today that uses the new Double Waves stencil from A Colorful Life Designs. This stencil is a 6×9, but I only used half of it today. I had a lot of fun making this one.

I started with a roll-off print from a monoprinting session which I laid the stencil on and sprayed with Vibrant Turquoise Dylusions Spray. I like how subtle it came out. I cut around the waves and then worked out how I wanted to do the “foam.” I took a piece of white cardstock and trimmed 3 fat strips to be 5 1/2″ wide. Then I tore the top off of each strip and rolled that torn edge forward with my fingers. I had a Cheeky gal from The Greeting Farm I had colored a while ago with Copics ready to sit right in the waves. I popped her up with foam behind her head because of all the dimension in the waves.
I swiped some Spun Sugar, Saltwater Taffy, and Scattered Straw Distress Inks directly on to my card base to create a sky. My sentiment was done on white vellum, inked with Warm Breeze VersaFine Clair, and embossed with Salvaged Patina Distress Embossing Glaze. It’s from the new Chasing the Sun clear stamp set from A Colorful Life Designs. I love the brushy font.
I really like how this all came together. The colors of the sky really work with the Cheeky’s hair, the subtle waves in the background….it’s got a cool vibe.
