Hello! I love plants. I love gardening, going to nurseries to look at plants, visiting botanical gardens…you get the idea. So I was really excited to see the new 6×9 Monstera Leaves stencil from A Colorful Life Designs. I knew I needed it in my collection, especially since I already had some stamps and dies that would work so well with it.

I had a piece of a monoprint I made with the Fruit Cake Kaleidacolor Inks. All I did to make it was roll the color with my brayer on to my 6×6 Gel Press and pull the print. It’s an unbelievably quick way to get a rainbow with very little effort and no pain (which for someone like me with chronic hand and shoulder pain, that’s important). I used Nuvo’s Glacier Paste in Green Envy with the Monstera stencil on top of the monoprint. It has such a gorgeous shine to it.
I die cut the Jumbo Monstera Leaf from Erin Lee Creative twice. Once from Gold Foil cardstock and once from a textured green cardstock from Prism (no longer in business). The green needed some shadowing, so I inked it a bit with a dark green ink. I apologize, but I forgot to write down which ink it was. I glued them together offset. On top of that, I die cut my “Hello” from Pinkfresh Studio’s Classic Words Die Set out of the same gold cardstock and a very dark green. I adhered those offset as well. I attached everything to a piece of Kraft colored cardstock that was 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ and then I mounted it all on to a white card base.
This card practically lights up when the light hits it correctly. I really like the contrast of the red tones on the left with all of the green. It really makes everything pop.
