Hello! I have another card using one of the new stamp sets from Stampendous, as well as one of their older ones (which is still available). Stampendous products are now under the umbrella of Spellbinders, so you can find their products on their website. For this card, I played with alcohol ink and Distress Oxides, and I ended up with an interesting background.

I had first colored the bird from the Sweet Song stamp set with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens. After I gave it a loose fussy cut, I decided I wanted to have the bird on the ground, so I applied Ranger Alcohol Ink in Sepia to the bottom of a piece of Poster Board paper from Dollar Tree. I used some Blending Solution to help the color move, and my Alcohol Ink Blower. Once it dried, I added a band Rustic Wilderness Distress Oxide, then Faded Jeans. I know the colors look different here from when they are normally used, but it’s because they’re Oxides and on Poster Board Paper. Plus, the area that has the Rustic Wilderness had dried Blending Solution on it, which also altered the way the Oxide looks. I flicked some water on to the panel and moved on to the card base.
I inked the card base with Speckled Egg Distress Oxide and flicked on Desert Sand Fireworks! Spray from Imagine. My sentiment, which is from the True Friends stamp set, was inked with VersaFine Clair Ink in Fallen Leaves and then I added some Speckled Egg on top. I cut the bottom of my sentiment with the Tonic/Tim Holtz Deckle Trimmer.
I really wanted the bird to stand out on this card, and with keeping the background very fluid and without details, I was able to do that. There are many Stampendous products available over at Spellbinders now, so I hope that you’ll check everything out. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!
Thank you so much for your kind words!
