Let’s Party with Foil

Hello and Happy February! Some of the new release stencils from A Colorful Life Designs look like they are just begging to be used with foil. So, one day last month I sat down with a bunch of them and my Transfer Gel Duo from Therm O Web. After they dried, I used Therm O Web‘s Deco Foil on them and ran them through my laminator. They came out amazing. Today’s card uses the Crazy Circles Stencil with Jade Deco Foil. I’ve got a coupon for you at the bottom of this post!

There are a ton of great little details in the Crazy Circles stencil, and I thought using foil on black cardstock would be a great way to show them off. Using the Transfer Gel Duo gives the stenciled areas a bit of height too. It is really hard to capture how shiny and beautiful the foils are with a photo.

I changed the lighting a bit for this picture so that you can see the whole card a bit better. The foil doesn’t look nearly as dramatic as it doe in the first one, though.

I wanted my sentiment to stand out, but not take away from the background. I used the “Let’s Party” die from The Greetery and I cut the words from holographic cardstock and the shadow layer from a shiny silver vellum. You can still see the circles underneath, but they are more subdued. I added a few gunmetal colored Starburst Rhinestones from Doodles Paper Playground too. I put it all on to a gray card base, as it worked so well with the sentiment, and I didn’t want to do white or black.

I wish my photos were better, but I think you get the idea of how shiny the card is. I hope you’ll check out the entire February release from A Colorful Life Designs.
