Neuro Doodles Circles

Uncategorized

30 Jan

Greetings! All month, I’ve been sharing projects that use the various Neuro Doodles stencils from A Colorful Life Designs. I am crazy about them, and they have quickly become some of my favorites. Today, I am sharing a card that uses the Neuro Doodles Circles, which is a 6×9 stencil.

I started off by spraying the bejesus out of the stencil with an assortment of Dylusions and Distress Sprays while it lay on some Bristol Smooth Cardstock. Once I finished that, it of course had plenty of ink on the stencil, so I flipped it on to another piece of cardstock (not Bristol) and pressed, pressed, pressed them together. The first piece came out cool, but it has this huge yellow splotch that I don’t know if I love it or hate it, so it’s still sitting on my desk. This piece though…I really love. I filled in some of the areas with the sprays and a paint brush, like the lower left corner…that was done with Saltwater Taffy Distress Spray Stain. It was too disjointed before I filled it in. Other areas, although they were splotchy, looked really cool.

I love the vibrancy of those colors. I decided to pull some Distress Inks that coordinated to ink up my card base, so I went around the whole thing with Mustard Seed and Salvaged Patina, which created a really pretty shade of green here and there. I die cut my Pinkfresh Studio sentiment with teal vellum and hot pink cardstock. I also added a few holographic sequins, which was perfect because they pick up on all the colors in the card.

Eventually I’ll figure out to do with the original panel. I just haven’t gotten there yet. But this card came out great. I even like how it (since it wasn’t expensive cardstock) picked up the texture of the paper towel I used when I was pushing the stencil into it.
