I’ve mentioned many times before, that I really like to keep a stash of backgrounds and colored images. I make them when I don’t have a lot of mojo, or when I feel like making/coloring them. Then, when I need something quick, or I’m not sure what direction I want to go with a project, I can sift through the stash and see if I get inspired. I found the background I used, for example, which was made with Distress Oxides and the Doodle Wheels stencil from A Colorful Life Designs. The Oxides I used were Salvaged Patina, Villainous Potion, and Twisted Citron. I think that’s all of the colors I used.
After rifling though my images, I found this old Laurel Burch dog from Stampendous that was a perfect match in style and color to the background. Now, I just had to choose my Sparkle Blend. I opted to go with Funfetti Cake Batter because of all the soft pretty colors. I knew they would work perfectly with the dog and the stenciled background. I also stamped a “hello” with Rain Forest VersaFine Clair Ink, which I heat embossed with Stampendous’ Kaleidoscope embossing powder.
I love when I can quickly sift through my pre-made elements and put together a project pretty effortlessly. It took no time to make my shaker once I had chosen my pieces. And it looks like I colored them to go together! Be sure to check out all of the awesome sequins mixes from Doodles Paper Playground over at the Sparkle Blends Shop. You can use my code, “ALISON10” for 10% off of your regular priced purchase, not including Bundles. Also, visit the Sparkle Blends Fan Club on FB for more inspiration. Thanks so much for stopping by.
