Happy May! I have mentioned in the past that I love bees and bee imagery, so I was really happy when Doodles Paper Playground came out with a new bee-themed Sparkle Blend called Bee-You-Tiful. I used it once last month, you can see that post HERE, but I got a new (to me) Stamp Anniething stamp that just had to be used with this Sparkle Blend.

This is Lorelei Bumblebee and she is so adorable. I colored her with Copics and cut her out. For the background, I used some Kraft cardstock (I love using Kraft with bees) to stencil on a subtle honeycomb pattern with Mustard Seed Distress Oxide. I needed a little more, so I splattered on some metallic yellow and black Deco Art Misters.
I used 3 hexagon dies from Waffle Flower to make my shaker windows. I didn’t separate them with foam tape, so the Sparkle Blend can flow from one window to the other. The Bee-You-Tiful Sparkle Blend has the cutest little chonky clay bees, pretty yellow flowers, and some very cool holographic black sequins. I backed the shaker with Doodlebug paper and added a sentiment from Stampendous.
Shaker windows don’t always have to be big and take over most of a card front. Sometimes smaller windows are really effective and allow you to have a focal image share the stage. Be sure to check out the rest of the new release over at the Sparkle Blends Shop. You can use my code, “ALISON10” for 10% off of your regular priced purchase, not including Bundles.
