Hey there! Thanks for dropping by. Today’s card uses an older stencil from A Colorful Life Designs, called Primitive Batik. As soon as I saw it, I knew I had to use it on my Gel Press Plate.

I’m going to be honest. Usually when I start slapping paint on my Gel Press Plates, by the time I’m done, I usually don’t know which colors I’ve used for which prints. That’s the case here. I often use a mix of Golden Fluid Acrylics and Deco Art Media Acrylics, plus a heavy body acrylic to pull the print. I probably did that here, but I really don’t know. I tend to get lost in the moment when I’m pulling prints, so all I can say is choose colors that speak to you if you want to try making monoprints.
I found a cool geometric patterned paper in my stash for my background, and I used the CZ Design Clean Line XL stamps from Simon Says Stamp for my sentiment. I used Twilight VersaFine Clair ink to stamp it on teal paper. I also added a few rhinestone from Doodles Paper Playground, because you know I need a bit of shine.
The stencil image isn’t totally clear in this monoprint, but I’m fine with that. I will say that the Primitive Batik stencil is really cool, and if you love batik fabric, you’ll definitely want to check it out. Please be sure to visit A Colorful Life Designs to see the hundreds of stencils that are available. There are so many amazing stencils that are unlike any you may have seen before.
