Hello! Today’s card pays homage to the first signs of spring…this card gives me a really happy feeling inside…sorta fizzy, like soda. I can’t explain it much better than that, and you probably think it’s weird, but that’s how I feel when I look at this card. Full of excitement and joy, waiting for spring to finally arrive.

This is Bunny Fields from A Colorful Life Designs. It’s one of the March release stencils, and I love it. It has the regular stencil with it, as well as the positive bunny image. I was really inspired by my friend and fellow DT Member Von Marie’s card using this stencil, so it was a bit of a jumping off point for me (pun intended). I took a piece of Kraft cardstock and embossed the stencil with white embossing paste. I purposely left lines from my palette knife in the images to add interest to the texture.
After the paste dried, I scribbles some pastel Gelatos on to my work surface and spritzed them with water. I applied the wet Gelatos with a paint brush to all the areas except the bunny. I let all that dry, then I inked the edges of the panel with Spun Sugar Distress Oxide Ink. I kept the panel a full 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ because I just didn’t want to cut it down. I mounted it on to a white card base.
I think this Bunny Fields stencil offers a lot of possibilities. I plan on using only the flowers on a card at some point. Perhaps the positive of the bunny alone at another time. Lots of ideas going on! Please be sure to visit A Colorful Life Designs to see the hundreds of stencils that are available.
