Hello! The DT for A Colorful Life Designs is featuring lots of birthday cards this month, because that’s the theme of the new release. Of course, you can use these stencils for plenty more than just birthday cards, but we always seem to have a need for them in our stash, right? I used the new 6×6 Balloons stencil for today’s card.

I decided to take a 4″ x 5 1/4″ panel and lightly stencil the balloons with Rustic Wilderness and Prize Ribbon Distress Inks. Then, I took a small strip and used those same colors, but I applied them darker, and I splattered some water on to them for some additional points of interest.
I added one of the sentiments from The Greetery’s Birthday Blooms stamps and I die cut it. It was stamped with VersaFine Clair Ink in Twilight. I also added 3 little sequins from Doodles Paper Playground just for a touch of sparkle. I painted my card base with Cottage Ivy Fireworks! Spray from Imagine.
This card takes very little time to recreate, which is great when you need a birthday card in a pinch. I really like the single strip of bolder colors on top of the pale versions of the balloons. Please be sure to visit A Colorful Life Designs to see the hundreds of stencils that are available. There are so many amazing stencils that are unlike any you may have seen before.
