July TRHD Release: Day 3

Hello! It’s Day 3 of The Rabbit Hole Designs‘ July release! Today the Design Team is focusing on the new Candy Twist Die, the Slice of Christmas stencil, and the fabulous new Cotton Tail Blending Brushes.

I used the Candy Twist die as my focus today. I applied double sided sticky sheets to the back of a red plaid, a green plaid, and a white with red spots paper. Then I die cut the Candy Twist out several time from each. Using a mat of Kraft cardstock, I applied the outline of the die to it going straight down, using a green outline, then red, then green, etc.

Then I filled in the candy using the inside pieces. For the green outline, I used red and white pieces. For the red outline, I used green and white pieces. This was a bit tedious, but since everything already had adhesive on the back it wasn’t difficult at all. I just popped on some YouTube videos and watched them while I completed this part of the card.

I decided to use the “Ho” from the Slice of Christmas Stencil for my sentiment. I stenciled it on to white cardstock using Love Letter Memento Ink, cut the letters out, and backed them with brown cardstock to help them stand out. I decided to also create an exclamation point and a “3,” taking a cue from the sentiments from the new Pawlidays stamp set. I simply reinked part of the “H” and just cut out the shapes I needed. I applied all of these elements with foam tape, then adhered it to a cream colored card base.

This card may look like it took forever, but it really went together quickly. It was actually fun to just do something repetitive like this for a while.
