Greetings! I am so excited for my post today, as it’s my first official post as a Guest Designer for Sassy & Crafty! I was so honored when I was asked to be a Guest, and even more excited when I was given a new Sassy Girls set to work with! The set is called Free & Brave, and my card today features one of the two Sassy Girls in the set, plus some of the sentiments.
As soon as I saw this stamp, I immediately envisioned it in sepia tones. I colored this with only my “E” Copics, with the exception of B39, which I muted with an E so that it wasn’t quite so blue. It reminds me of an old photo, done this way, that may have been on a poster of some kind. I’m a newbie with Copics (I’ve played with some in the past, but that was quite some time ago), but I love the way she turned out.
For my background, I pulled out Sassy & Crafty’s Comic Book Stencil and applied the dots to Kraft cardstock. That particular pattern doesn’t span across an entire background, so I applied it to one side, then flipped it over to do the other, using Vintage Photo Distress Ink.
I kept the rest of the card simple. I stamped a sentiment with black ink on to white cardstock, and inked it with Antique Linen Distress Ink.I mounted everything on to a brown card base, to add to the sepia tones.
I really enjoyed making this card and stretching my use of my Copic “skills” (if you can call them that! 😉 ). It’s an honor to be a Guest with Sassy & Crafty, and I look forward to showing you more creations this month with their amazing stamps and stencils! Thanks so much for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!
