Hello! There is a new Moodboard challenge for February up in the White Rose Crafts Gallery over on Facebook. The colors are warm and cozy, and they really inspired me. Here’s a look at the Moodboard.
Beyond the colors, I liked the texture from the blankets and pillows, so I wanted a textured card. I just received a few AALL & Create products that White Rose Crafts is going to be stocking later this month, and i couldn’t wait to use them. I know that they’d be perfect for my Moodboard project. I am also entering this card into the Simon Says Stamp “Floral Frenzy” Challenge.
I began by ink blending a piece of white cardstock with Distress Inks (not Oxides) in Mustard Seed, Ripe Persimmon, Festive Berries, and Seedless Preserves. I made sure that the ink was dry, and then I stamped the poppy image from AALL & Create’s #207 with VersaMark Ink. I heat embossed it with detail black.
Since Distress Inks react with water, I decided to “bleach” out the flowers and numbers on the embossed image by using clean water and a liner brush. Since I embossed the image, I didn’t need to worry about the water running everywhere. I dabbed the excess water up with a paper towel and let it all dry.
I wanted a more focal sentiemnt than what was written within the poppy stamp, so I used one of them from the AALL & Create #198, and heat embossed it with black as well. For additional texture, I took some white paint, watered it down and splattered it all over my card. Then, I used irRESISTable Spray in Tuxedo Black from Imagine, and splattered that as well. I love the dimension this spray has.
I mounted my dry piece on to Kraft cardstock, which was mounted on to a cream card base. I think it would have been striking to have mounted it on to black cardstock as well, but I really like the Kraft.
I am really excited that White Rose Crafts will have ALL & Create in the shop this month. You are going to love the selections! And, I am pleased to let you know that I will be featuring this brand during my next Facebook Live video that I do for White Rose Crafts. That will be coming up on February 17th, so be sure to look out for it! I hope you’ll join us in the Moodboard Challenge. You can get all of the details over in the White Rose Crafts Gallery. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!
