Greetings! Back in January, Imagine had a call for art for a Valentine’s Day themed post. I loved my time as an Artist in Residence for Imagine, so I knew I had to play along. The post went live yesterday, and there are many beautiful cards featured. I am really happy to say that mine was one of them. I am entering this card into the latest Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, which is “With Love.”
I wanted to create a background with vibrant, blended color that was also super shimmery. Fireworks! Spray was the perfect product. The colors are so bold, and the shimmer is beautiful. Using a stencil and a few other simple products made this card come together very quickly.
I brushed Lady Bug, Rose Bud, and Sweet Plum Fireworks! on my background paper and I let it dry. Then I sprayed my stencil (Balzer Designs for The Crafter’s Workshop) directly with Rich Cocoa Fireworks! and laid it on to my (dry) background. After carefully lifting the stencil and letting it dry, I used a white gel pen to highlight the hearts and the circles in the middle of the design.
You can see some of the shimmer in the photo above. I topped the card off with the Brushed Hello die from Simon Says Stamp. I die cut the sentiment 3 times, and applied Rich Cocoa Fireworks! to the top layer. Last, I applied some sequins from Doodles Paper Playground to the piece with On Point Glue. This is truly my favorite glue for adhering sequins and other small things. I chose sequins from the Love Potion (now sold out) and Very Cranberry Sparkle Blends.
This card is so shimmery in person! I love how it turned out. Fireworks! Sprays are so much fun to work with. I enjoyed making this card very much…it was pretty quick and I think making it with different colors would give the card a completely different vibe. I’ll be back soon with another project. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!
