Hello! Today I have a card that features the Stud Puffin stamp set from Lawn Fawn, as well as some of the dies from the Heart Shaker Gift Tag set. The White Rose Crafts DT has been featuring Lawn Fawn all month, so I was happy to break out these cuties again. I am entering this card into the latest Lawn Fawnatics Challenge which is, “For the Birds.” I am also entering this into the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge, which is “All Loved Up.”
I started by watercoloring and die cutting my little puffins. I kept it really simple and used Koi Watercolors. Then I used Kraft cardstock and embossed the hearts into my background. I used the special rubbery mat from Spellbinders for that. I thought the hearts looked adorable, but the one in the upper left corner actually cut through the perforation. I decided to remove it and just replace it with a blue heart. I’m actually really pleased with this “happy little accident,” as I think it adds some nice extra details to the card.
I used an old Tim Holtz die for my sentiment strip, and on it I stamped a sentiment and heart from the You’re Just My Type stamp set, which I gold heat embossed. I decided I wanted a bit more blue on the card, so I die cut some teeny hearts, that came along with the shaker gift tag set.
I had considered lightly inking on top of the hearts in my background, but I decided that the card just didn’t need it. Simplicity was better in this case. I mounted my top layer on to a white card base and decided it was done.
I think my favorite part might actually be where that large blue heart is. I may use that again, but all over a background, instead of just one spot. That’s it for me today. I’ll have another new project soon. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!
