Hello! Did you see the card I made last week for the new White Rose Crafts Gallery Moodboard Challenge? I decided to make another one, though I admit, I took some artistic license with this one. I used more Lawn Fawn, and opted to play along with their current challenge which is Something Old & Something New.
And just as a reminder, or if you haven’t seen it yet, this is the Moodboard.
The colors are pretty close to what’s shown in the Moodboard, but I did add green. If I would have had Lawn Fawn’s Frosty Fairy Friends, I would have done a snowy scene. But I only have the regular Fairy Friends set (which I adore), so I just made it work. After coloring the fairies and house, and putting together my oval (which was done with Spiffy Speckles and Watercolor Wishes paper from Lawn Fawn), I thought it was starting to look too different from the Moodboard.
I decided to use the new Stud Puffin stamp set for my sentiment and the hearts. This is where the “Something New” comes into play with the Lawn Fawn Challenge. Fairy friends is an “Old” set.
To tie the card back into the Moodboard a bit better, I decided to pull out my Distress Oxides and create a blended background. I used Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry, and Dusty Concord. For some sparkle and oxidation, I splattered some Sheer Shimmer Spritz in Frost all over it and blotted up the excess.
Although I don’t have the “Wintry” feel of the WRC Moodboard, I think it works with it well. I’ve got the colors and the hearts and the Sheer Shimmer Spritz works back to it as well. I hope you’ll play along with this new Moodboard Challenge. You can get all of the details over at the WRC Gallery on FB. Be sure to check out all of the new things that have been popping up in the WRC shop too, including lots of new Lawn Fawn. You can use my code, “Alison 15” to save 15% off of your purchase. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!
