Hello! Have you seen the new “Vintage Rose” Subscription Kit from White Rose Crafts? It is beautiful and romantic, and I think many of you will love it. I decided to share 3 cards today to highlight the beautiful papers in the kit.
This is the first card I made. I really love the shabby chic look to the papers that are included. I’d like to point out that although it looks like there’s a shadow on the left side of the card, there isn’t. That’s the aged look of the paper.
I took my time playing with different combinations of papers to make this card. It took some time because there are so many great choices! You get 20 double sided 6″ x 6″ papers! In the end, I went for a subtle look. I used a couple of oval dies from my stash, plus one of the stamps that come in the kit for my sentiment. I topped the sentiment with one of the Kaisercraft rhinestone flowers that come in the kit. I used a brown card base (also from my stash) to ground the layers of pretty paper.
My next card is perfect for those of you that have a lot of paper scraps laying around. I cut 1 1/4″ squares, using the papers I used from the first card, plus one additional double sided piece. I laid them out, and matted them with some of my own cardstock.
I used a few of the accompanying buttons, adhered with On Point Glue, and added one of the stickers from the Kaisercraft sticker sheet that comes in the kit. These patterns all look so pretty together, and the end result reminds me of an old quilt.
My third and final card came together quickly. I knew I wanted to use one of the small vintage postcards that are on one of the sheets of paper, so I cut that out and distressed the edges. Then I chose a background paper and tore the edge, to add to the distressed look i was going for. I cut up a couple more scraps, to create tiny banners and adhered them under the torn paper.
I added a few buttons, plus a sentiment from Heidi Swapp’s “Only You” clear stamp set (not included in the kit, but available at White Rose Crafts.). I think this card is pretty, but I think I should have added a splash of ink with the included Tattered Rose Distress Oxide to the card base, on the right side of the card. I think it just needs a little something more, but overall, I am happy with it.
And here are all three cards together. This is such a pretty set, I could see this having a few more coordinating cards, tied together with some pretty ribbons, and given as a gift. I can also imagine taking this kit over to the steampunk side of the spectrum, by adding gears, clock parts, and other metal accents. The Vintage Rose Subscription Kit begins shipping on September 1st, so be sure to pre-order yours now, as there is a limited supply.
