Hello! It’s almost officially the Year of the Fire Horse, and I have a card to celebrate it. I was excited to work with the new Celtic Knots stencil from A Colorful Life Designs, and when I showed it to my friend Kelli, she said it reminded her of Asian coins, so we thought I should make a New Year’s card with it.

I started with a piece of green paper and used a gold embossing paste with the Celtic Knot Stencil. I let that dry and then trimmed it to 4″ x 5 1/4.” Next, I colored a fire horse from Mama Elephant’s Lunar Animals Stamp Set. I used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens for it.

I die cut the Fan & Bow Die Set out of red and metallic gold cardstock and placed it behind the horse. Then I found my sentiment in a discontinued stamp set from Clearly Besotted. I heat embossed it in gold on a black cardstock strip. Then, I inked my card base with Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink.

So even though this stencil is of Celtic Knots, I think it totally works with the theme of this card. Please visit the A Colorful Life Designs website to see the thousands of available stencils.
