Hello! I love purple…it’s one of my favorite colors. Especially blueish-purples, which I affectionately call blurple. I decided to make a blurple monochromatic card today, using the new Mystic Strands stencil from A Colorful Life Designs, along with some of the images in Hero Arts’ Tricks & Treats stamp set.

Like a lot of my stenciled backgrounds, I started off with a monoprint that didn’t have much going on. There’s a bit of shimmer, but not much else. I placed my stencil on top and inked it diagonally with Queen for a Day, Crushed Violet, and Serene Inks from Catherine Pooler. I used Queen for a Day on my card base too.

I colored my chosen images from the Tricks & Treats Stamp and Cut completely with the BV color range of Copic Markers. The BV colors worked perfectly with the rest of the blurples I had on the card so far. To make my crystal ball sparkly, I used Snazzy Sparkle from Lindy’s Gang. Instead of using the coordinating dies, I fussy cut these elements so that there wasn’t a white border. My sentiment is from the Hero Arts Season’s Creepings Stamp & Cut set.

I love how this came together. That stencil works so well with the little images from the Tricks and Treats set. And all of that blurple!!! Have an inspiring day!
