Hello! Last night I watched Card Chaos with my gal pal Irene Smith. If you don’t know what Card Chaos is, or who Irene is, you’re missing out! It’s a really fun YouTube Show on Monday nights where the challenge is to make a completed card in 15 minutes or less. I’ve been on the show before, and I’ll be back on on September 15th. More info HERE. Last night, the challenge was to use embossing folders, and I knew right away what I wanted to do.

The Embossing Folder of the Month from Spellbinders is just beautiful. I love that the leaves are falling diagonally, as if it’s quite a blustery day. I also love that there are so many different kinds of leaves on this folder. To ensure I got my card made in 15 minutes, I did a really simple, yet striking, technique, called the Blackout Technique. You can watch me do it HERE. I used Mowed Lawn, Wild Honey, and Crackling Campfire Distress Inks. For the Blackout part, I used Pinecone VersaFine Clair Ink. This panel was made with Strathmore Smooth Bristol Cardstock.

I wanted some shine, so I splattered on some Gold Sheer Shimmer Spritz. I used the Clear Stamp & Die of the Month from Spellbinders for my sentiment, and then I inked my card base with Crackling Campfire.

If you weren’t familiar with the Blackout technique, you might think it took much linger than 15 minutes to create this card. But it’s such a simple technique to do, and the results are always so cool. Please be sure to check out Card Chaos on Monday nights (7PM EST)! Also, be sure to visit Spellbinders to see all of this month’s Club Kits. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!
