Greetings from the Amalfi coast! Okay, not really…but my card today does feature the Amalfi Breeze Die Set from Spellbinders. The entire La Dolce Vita Collection is so well thought-out and beautiful, so I was really excited to work with this gal and her towel.

I cut my gal out using various colored cardstock and I opted to not do any additional shading. The Amalfi Breeze Set comes with a tassel die for her towel, but you can customize it to whatever size and look you’d like. I opted to pull out the Classic Mouse Borders and die cut the helm border several times from navy colored cardstock. I backed it with yellow to make it really pop.

To create the sand, I took some Kraft cardstock that has a different shade on each side, tore it several times, then staggered which side I had facing up. Then I splattered Rich Cocoa Fireworks! Spray from Imagine, with Walnut Stain and Vintage Photo Distress Inks. The tearing and the splatter really make the cardstock look more like sand. I also added a thin strip of blue for water at the top of the card. My sentiment is from last month’s Hero Studio Card Kit of the Month from Hero Arts and I popped it up with foam tape.

I had so much fun creating this card. Coming up with a fun way to make the towel, tearing the paper for the beach….it’s one of those cards that was just a pleasure to make. And by the way, if you like to read, check out Sarah J Penner’s novel called The Amalfi Curse. It’s wonderful. Please visit Spellbinders to see all of the latest releases. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!
