Greetings! I’m combining last month’s Die of the Month from Spellbinders with the new Sea Net Stencil from A Colorful Life Designs. These elements worked so well together, I couldn’t pass up the chance to combine them.

I quickly made my background using the Sea Net Stencil with Juniper Mist Ink from Catherine Pooler. I went heavy in some spots and light in the other to give more visual interest to the background. I used that same ink for my sentiment which is from last month’s Clear Stamp & Die Set of the Month. I don’t see last month’s leftover kits available as of yet, but I’m guessing they will be soon.

I began working on my Salty Sailor by die cutting colored cardstock and a piece of patterned paper. I inked the components with Tiara and Aquatini ink from Catherine Pooler and Vintage Photo Distress Ink. The Waffle Flower Shader 1+ Brushes are perfect for fine detail work like this. I also colored in his eyes with a white Gel Pen and a fine tip black marker. I used Tiara Ink on my card base, and I created a shadow layer for my sentiment.

This fella works perfectly with the Sea Net stencil, right? This is such a fun combo for a thank you card. Please visit the A Colorful Life Designs website to see the thousands of available stencils.
