Hello! Today there are lots of new releases from Spellbinders, and truthfully, I had a hard time deciding what to share first! I decided to go with Snow Globe Scenes by Simon Hurley. I love snow globes and the dies in this collection, that go with the original Simon’s Snow Globe, are fantastic, and truthfully can even be used without the snow globe, as you’ll see in future posts. Being a New Yorker, I fell in love with the City Skating Scene. New York City is iconic for it’s grand Christmas tree in Rockefeller Center with folks skating right in front of it.

I die cut all of my pieces and did a bit of ink blending on some of them. For example, all of the buildings were die cut with the same shade of gray, but I added some Black Jack Ink to darken the buildings that would be in front. Other ink colors I used were Tiara, Cummerbund, Icing on the Cake, and Juniper Mist. But of course, I recommend you use what you’ve got. I used a metallic gold foiled cardstock for the tree decorations and the label.

I thought the Quilted Etched Die mimicked the city lights in such a cool way, so I knew I wanted to use it. I used it with a piece of navy blue cardstock and backed it with a warm yellow. I used foam tape to pop up the snow globe a bit off of the card.

This is such a sweet little scene. I really like this collection, and you can easily use things you’ve already got in your stash to make some pretty wonderful scenes, I bet. I’ll be sharing lots more from all of the new collections, so I hope you’ll visit again. Please visit Spellbinders to see all of the latest releases and this month’s new releases. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!
Thank you so much for your kind words!
