Not-So-Spooky Swirls

Greetings! Today I’m sharing a card that uses the Spooky Swirls Stencil from A Colorful Life Designs in a not-so-spooky way. I decided to use my granulating watercolors with it, for an almost effortless piece that looks like I spent a lot of time on it. You can do this with regular watercolors too, but the granulating watercolors break out into different colors, which is why the effect is so great here.

I used a piece of cold press watercolor paper and I laid my stencil on top. Then I wet the panel and applied Aurora Violet from Kuretake’s Granulating Watercolors. The color seeped under the stencil, but in this scenario, I was okay with it, because I knew the different colors would break out and shift nicely. I removed the stencil and let the panel dry.

I chose a sentiment from the Checking In Stamp Set from Kristina Werner and Concord & 9th. I stamped it (a few times because of the texture of the paper) with Twilight VersaFine Clair Ink. Then, I added a few Crystal Iris Wild Orchid Card Bling from A Colorful Life Designs. I added a thin line of Twilight Ink to my panel and I attached it to a white card base.
