Hello! I’ve mentioned that I simple adore working with the Storybook Illustrations stamps from Josh Griffiths and Spellbinders. I have several cards waiting in the wings to be shared, and today I have one of them. This card is great if you’re not really into creating scenes (although I truly do love to do that!). I wanted to show you a simple way to work with Josh’s stamps without it needing to be too elaborate. Of course, then technique I did on the ladies wound up being kind of “extra” but you certainly don’t have to do what I did. Let’s take a look.

I used the Illustrated Lady Stamp Set to build my gal pals, but I didn’t just stamp all of the components together. I had some paper that had ink, watercolors, and splatters and I decided to paper piece their clothes. So the pants, the white shirt, and the skirt are actually from the same piece of paper that I had painted. Then I used Copics for the other shirt, skin, hair, mugs, and shoes.
To give bring the focus in, I inked up another piece of paper using Blue Breeze Kaleidacolor Inks. Then I used Dr. PH Martin’s Bleed Proof White for splatter. I die cut it into a circle and used one of the blues from the Kaleidacolor for my sentiment. Then, I embossed a white piece of cardstock with the January 2026 Embossing Folder of the Month, called Cloud Nine.
I haven’t paper pieced in a while, and while it’s time consuming, it’s a great way to use up fun scraps. I find it to be pretty relaxing too. Please visit Spellbinders to see all of their latest releases. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!
