Hello! I have a shaker card today that uses a design I work with often. I like having a bold pattern with a sentiment in the lower right corner. It’s a simple layout that allows for lots of additional layers and works with many styles. Here, I really wanted to show off the Mid Century Star Mask from A Colorful Life Designs, so even though there’s a shaker element, the background really takes center stage.

I had an old piece of pattered paper that looks like one of my roll off prints, even thought it isn’t. I thought it was the perfect start for this card. I laid the Mid Century Star Mask on top and sprayed Lumberjack Plaid Distress Oxide Spray through it. It looked really cool when it dried, but I wanted the mask design to stand out more so I used a white gel pen to add highlights.

For the shaker, I used the Bold Text #1 from Tim Holtz and Sizzix. I die cut right into my focal panel, added some acetate, lots of foam tape, and then added Crystal Iris Primrose Card Bling from A Colorful Life Designs inside. Then, I backed it with burgundy cardstock. I added a few more sequins to the focal panel and then adhered everything to my card base.

This is a fun card that works for many people. I love how easy it was to make even with the shaker component. And if shakers aren’t your thing, you could easily just add a die cut sentiment and call it a day.
