Hello! My mom has cats. She’s had many, many cats over the years and as soon as I saw Yana’s Christmas Cats from Yana Smakula and Spellbinders, I knew I would be making lots of cards for her with them, and I started with a birthday card. While this collection has plenty of elements for Christmas, you can absolutely use it year-round.

I created a fun little scene of the cats making mischief while playing with the gifts. I made the cats look like some of my mom’s cats from present day and the past, and I made the room reminiscent of her living room as well. The cats are from the Christmas Cats Die Set. The bed, window, and curtain are all from the Christmas Cats Window View Die Set. I love putting together different patterns like the ones I used to create the scene. It’s so much fun for me.

The gifts are from the Gift Boxes and Bags Die Set from Lisa Horton and Spellbinders. I die cut them from Spellbinders cardstock and did a bit of ink blending on them for added highlights and shadows. I used part of one of the sentiments from the Meowy Christmas Sentiments Press + Foil Plates Set and then die cut “birthday” using the Be Bold Lowercase Alphabet & Numbers Die Set.

My mom loved her card and she cracked up when she saw it. She could definitely see her cats doing these things, including sleeping against a gift box as if it was their bed. Please visit Spellbinders to see all of their latest releases. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!
Thank you so much for your kind words!
