Hello! Here’s my second card using the My Monthly Hero Kit from Hero Arts for August 2026. The dies in this kit are so fun, and really allow you to be creative with how you decorate them. I used the library card with it’s pocket to make a really fun birthday card.

I started with stamping the card onto ivory cardstock, and then I added the details with Paradise VersaFine Clair Ink. Then I create the pocket and added some embellishments using other components of the die set. I love that little paper clip!

I chose a piece of paper that had a hand-written letter printed on it and then I cut the edges with my Deckle Trimmer from Tonic Studios. I inked the edges a bit to age the paper further. Then I used Over Coffee Ink on the edges of the card base. But I also needed something else, so I grabbed some gauze and added it under the pocket. That finished it off nicely.

I really like the style of this card. I love using bold, bright colors for birthday cards, but I am really digging the toned down, vintage vibes of this one.
