Hello! I’m a sucker for a classic car. I’ve always loved them. My car is a PT Cruiser that I fell in love with when it was still a concept car…..it’s got flames on it. So I was beyond thrilled when I saw that Mindy Eggen and Spellbinders came out with the Classic Road Legends 2.0, to go with the original collection that came out last year. I couldn’t wait to start working with them, especially because of the new Hot Rod Flames Die set.

I’ll start off by saying the 2 new car die sets are less labor intensive that the models that came out last year. So if those intimidated you, you may want to give these a try. For my Hot Rod Flames Die Set, I used some mirror cardstock from Tonic, and some foiled cardstock from Recollections. I wanted as much shine as possible on this hot rod.

My background was created with the Highway Horizons- Desert Layering Stencils. I used Gray Denim from Altenew for the road, which I splattered with Twilight Ink from Catherine Pooler. The desert was done with Icing on the Cake from Catherine Pooler, Cappuccino Pawsitively Saturated Ink from Simon Says Stamp, and Walnut Stain Distress Ink. I splattered that with Acrylic Brown Speckle from Hero Arts. The rocky background was done with Amber and Mandarin Inks from Catherine Pooler, and the sky and sun was inked with Tiara, Orange Peel, Royal Treatment, and Something Borrowed, all from Catherine Pooler. My sentiment is from the Cruisin’ By Sentiments from last year’s release.

The layering stencils are awesome, but I seriously love this hot rod. I can’t wait to make it again and change up the colors. I’ll have another project using this collection soon. Please visit Spellbinders to see all of the latest releases. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!
Thank you so much for your kind words!
