Hello! Last year, Yana Smakula and Spellbinders released the City Holiday Die Set, which helps you build a lovely building, filled with character, thanks to all of the wonderful accessories that are included. I am so happy that the collection has expanded to now include new awnings, flower boxes, and more. Here’s my first take using all of these dies.

After choosing my color palette (there’s something really cool about green & white striped awnings….), I started the process of die cutting. This takes some time because there are a lot of components and fabulous bits that you can add. Just figuring out the styling of your building can take time, but I love the process. Almost all of my cardstock is from Spellbinders, though the green on the awnings has sadly been discontinued.

I did a bit of ink blending on my card base for my sky. I used Salty Ocean Distress Ink because I wanted to help the building really pop. Of course I needed to add a black cat, in honor of my two kitties…if you’ve been around for a while you may remember my Tomato and Zucchini. I miss them a lot. I added some roses to the flower box in the focal window and a simple sentiment to finish everything off.

This isn’t “hard” to make, it just takes time and a good amount of decision making. It’s perfect for when you need to think of nothing but what you’re creating, and truthfully, I needed that lately. In fact, I’m really going to try to make another one of these soon, just to get out of my own head for a bit. Please visit Spellbinders to see all of the latest releases. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!
Thank you so much for your kind words!
