Hello! Today’s card features the new Twirly Mask and Crystal Iris Wild Orchid Card Bling from A Colorful Life Designs. I had begun a background with Gelatos some time ago, and it just sat, waiting for the right moment to be used. I thought it was going to be perfect with this mask.

I placed the mask on top of the paper that was covered with Gelatos (the paper was primed first with gesso), and then I used a baby wipe to remove the color from the open areas. It looked good, but the detail didn’t stand out as much as I would have liked, so I outlined everything with a Violet Posca Pen.

The Twirly Mask is round, so it doesn’t cover the whole front panel of my card. I liked the edge of it showing, but I decided I wanted another element of interest, so I tore a piece of textured cardstock and inked it a bit with Wilted Violet Distress Ink. I inked my card base with Lime Rickey Ink from Catherine Pooler. My sentiment is from the Totally Awesome Stamp Set from Hero Arts, and apparently I have NO TURQUOISE INK (how is this even possible?!) so I used some embossing powder for it. What’s your favorite turquoise-colored ink? I gotta get some! Then I added that pretty Crystal Iris Wild Orchid Card Bling for some shine.

I thought about doodling in the empty spaces of the mask, but I’m not much of a doodler. Zen Tangling would be awesome in each of these spots, but I’m very happy with how this turned out.
