Hello! There’s a new Simon Hurley Collection though Spellbinders called Sending Hugs, and it’s made of 3 die sets that have adorable animals that want to give you a great big squeeze! I’m sharing a card I made for my son’s birthday using the Darling Dog Die Set.

I die cut the dog using a couple shades of brown and then added his tag. The hat, present, and sentiment are from the Birthday Bear Die Set, which is part of the Sending Hugs Collection. I used some plaid paper from MFT for those elements.

I wanted a textured background, so I used the Argyle Plaid 3D Embossing Folder from Spellbinders. I inked the embossing folder with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink before I put my paper inside, so that the ink color would press into the recessed areas of the paper after it was run through my die cut machine. I inked the edges of my card base with Clay Mask Ink from Catherine Pooler. I popped the panel up with some 1mm Foam Tape and I added some Satin Matte Pearl Card Bling from A Colorful Life Designs.

I thought this puppers was so cute, and his excited expression reminds me of one of our dogs…especially when he looks at my son. My boy loved the card, which made me very happy. Please visit Spellbinders to see the rest of the Sending Hugs Collection. I’ll share another card using it soon. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!
